Agriculture as a means of inclusion of the most disadvantaged people. That’s the main theme that unites the five short films “Nuove Terre” by the directors Francesca Comencini and Fabio Pellarin. The stories, set in different places in Italy, describe the agriculture as therapeutic, able to provide rehabilitation and active involvement of people at risk of social exclusion.
The documentary, was funded by the Italian Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Policies (MIPAAF) and produced by MADCAST with the scientific advice of IDEA 2020. It won the 2016 FriulAdria Award and the 2016 AGRICINEMA award from the Italian Farmers Confederation. IDEA 2020, in the person of its associate prof. Saverio Senni, followed the whole realisation of the documentary, from the identification of the five sites to the editing.
